Keith Schaafsma, MBA, CFP®

Keith Schaafsma is a Senior Investment Advisor at Ascendant. She is passionate about comprehensive, holistic wealth management for successful individuals and families.

Keith put herself through college and received the following degrees from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff:

• B.A in French, Summa Cum Laude (1989)
• BSBA Finance, Summa Cum Laude (1989)
• MBA, Finance Emphasis, Magna Cum Laude (1991)

She worked in consumer credit, mortgage lending, and commercial lending for Citibank before joining JD Hoyt’s award-winning wealth management team in 1994.

Keith received her Certified Financial Planning Designation in 1996. As a CFP®, she is subject to the CFP Board’s continuing education and ethical requirements. She holds various FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) securities licenses and several state insurance licenses.

Keith and her husband, Pieter, an artist in multiple media, support a variety of local non-profits, including St. Mary’s Food Bank, Best Friends Animal Shelter in Kanab, Utah, Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance, Both Hands, Literacy Volunteers, and the Grand Canyon Trust.

Keith and Pieter own property inside the GSNM in Southern Utah where they enjoy relaxing, reading, and creating with their two dogs. Keith speaks French and Spanish, and Pieter speaks Spanish. This enhances their delight in foreign travel.
